Trails are great! Beautiful scenery. Camp sites are nice too.

We're very fortunate to have a beautiful state park so close to the Village of Ontario. It's a great place to visit for the day or a weekend! Be sure to check out all the shops in the area!

Hiked two different days here with kids. Enjoyed our first hike despite the rain. Our second hike was enjoyable as well. Trails are easy to very moderate difficulty.

An underrated Wisconsin State Park gem overlooking the Kickapoo River. There's an overlook at the top of the park that offers one of the prettiest views in Wisconsin. It's also a great place to watch a sunset. And if you're a bird watcher, bring your binoculars -- you'll see many birds flying at eye-level and even BELOW you from the overlook. We hiked the 2.5-mile Old Settler's Trail. There are some very interesting sandstone formations along the path and an overlook that provides views of the Village of Ontario below (might not be visible when the trees are fully leaved). We visited in late Spring 2017 and a tornado ravaged one wooded section. It'll be cleaned up once the college kids have a chance to work at the park in the Summer, but I imagine the visible damage will remain for some time. Healthy, 10-inch diameter white pines were snapped in half like they were toothpicks! Look for this when you hike the trail and imagine the incredible power of wind to do something like this.

Beautiful place. Our campsite was nice and big and I never felt crowded with other people even though the park was full for the weekend.
